a ministry destined for purification
how can people who call themselves Christians bring upon discord among their group?.. easy answer -- human nature.. it is absolutely horrific how vulnerable & susceptible humans are to the evil works of the devil.. strong as they are, the devil comes to "kill, steal, and destroy" the fruitful works of God's harvesters.. he will use people whose initial intentions of service are pure & turn that desire to cultivate his plans.. it just saddens me to see a wonderful group disassemble.. some may impose their "divine dictatorship" on others (pls. excuse my sarcasm.. i'm just a little ticked off) w/ such inconsiderate demands; but those whose hearts are purified by the sanctifying grace of God are assured that the Lord sees their deep desire to serve Him inspite of this inexcusable treatment.. i earnestly try to not be biased.. but as an objective bystander, i first see both perspectives & decide which (if either of the two) seem justifiable.. and now, after a few weeks of meditation, i am in agreement w/ one side.. i shall assign the two sides as Group A & Group B..
Background Info
Group A
- been in the ministry since its formative development
- disorganized music leader & members, but very loyal
- loud, friendly, humorous, unruly
Group B
- been in the ministry for about 3 yrs
- brought instrumentals for enrichment of musical sounds, also loyal
- blunt, contemplative, friendly, sarcastic
The Problem
battle of the throne.. each group has their own vision of where the ministry is headed.. Group A may not have the vocal talents as the people Group B is recruiting, but they feel that they have a "calling" to be there.. Group B, bypassing the authority of the music coordinator, decides to form a youth choir, which according to Group A "would be fine as long as they informed us in advance".. the fact of the matter is, this issue goes beyond the ministry.. it's centered on the attitudes displayed toward each other.. being considerate is all that is asked & the lowering of pride..
Viewpoints
Group A
- feels as tho they are being replaced
- feels that the youth don't know their place in the pyramid of hierarchy, where adults are given respect.. imagine some kid telling u "u're in charge of the sound.. make sure it's not too loud or too soft" w/ neither please nor asking nicely.. direct demand
- feels as if the adults of Group B belittle them & do not appreciate their presence
Group B
- feels that the ministry needs to be strengthened; therefore a new order needs to be implemented
- feels that w/ the indirect replacement of the old choir, growth of the community will take place
- feels that it is w/in their power, and theirs alone, can this change take place
well, as u can see.. it's been a tough one.. let me know what u think.. i'd really appreciate it cuz w/ ur input, i can put my mind at ease.. thanks
I'm going to stop procrastinating ... once I get around to it.
- unknown (nor surprisingly)
